Welcome to the Congress Elementary School Family! Our District's Vision has two parts: "Students enjoy learning and success" and "Students discover the world and its opportunities." Congratulations to Jameson Danks for winning the Student Council hosted contest to determine the school theme this year. The 2025-2026 school theme is Surpass Your Limits. “To uncover your true potential, you must have the courage to surpass your limits”- Author Unknown. We look forward to another outstanding year of learning filled with new ideas and lots of success.
To support excellent instruction, the school instructional theme is "Embracing Excellence through Whole Child Education". To learn more about whole child education, please visit the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development's Whole Child website at: http://www.wholechildeducation.org. At Congress Elementary School, we are committed to facilitating the development of every child's maximum potential.
We appreciate the time and energy of all those involved with the school. This includes the elected Congress School Board members: Mrs. Cathy Campbell (President), Mrs. Deborah Miller, Mrs. Diane Jones, Ms. Kris Campbell, and Mr. Kent McGrew. Regular scheduled board meetings are the second Wednesday of every month, 5:00 pm, in the school library. The public are always welcome to attend.
We would like to welcome back all our wonderful teachers and support staff. Joining us this year is: Mrs. Kelley Ortiz as the Seventh Grade Teacher, Mr. Luke Lason as Maintenance/Custodian, and Mrs. Marty Hintz as Custodian. Mr. Turlington will be the new full-time bus driver.
A reminder that the first day of School is Monday, July 21, 2025. Doors open at 8:15 am. The public and all families are invited to the school on Wednesday, August 5, at 4:15 pm to learn about the school budget process and what a Truth and Taxation means for local taxpayers. Then at 5:00 pm there will be the annual Open House. Attached to this newsletter is Child Find information. If you know of a child (0-21 years old) that may be in need of intervention or special education services, please contact the school.
