Dear Parents,
All the staff at Congress Elementary wish you and your family a very Happy Winter Break. The Christmas Family Program was filled with spectacular student talent. Thank you to those who could attend and participate. As a part of a Spirit Week, the Christmas Family Program was followed by Pajama Day/Movie Day. It was a great way to end the December school month. We look forward to students returning on Monday, January 6, 2025. Mid-trimester for the Second Trimester was Thursday, December 12. Progress Reports for Second Trimester were mailed home Thursday, December 19, 2024.
A special thank you to Benner-Nawman for the boxes of food donated to families in need. Also, thank you to Christmas Elves for all their outreach and Christmas cheer they have brought to families 😊.
After we return from Winter Break, our Congress Cougar basketball teams will be finishing up the 2024-2025 season. With a home game on the 9th of January. Come on out and support the teams! The basketball tournament will take place on January 31st with the start time still to be determined. New afterschool activity forms will be sent home after Winter Break and activities will start Mid-January.
A friendly reminder that if your family travels and interacts with others that may have been sick with COVID-19 (or you feel your child (or family members) is displaying COVID-19/Flu symptoms), please do not send your child to school. If you are unsure about whether to send your child to school, we ask that you err on the side of caution and do not send them. Contact the teacher and discuss/decide the best decision before sending your child back to school.
A grateful thank you to Mrs. Cathy Campbell, current Board President, for her service. We are also thankful for Mrs. Diane Jones, Mr. Kent McGrew, Ms. Kristin Campbell, and Mrs. Deborah Miller for their service and leadership as board members.
