March 2021

Dear Parents,

This year, the school theme is focused on Embracing Excellence through Conquering Challenges. We are extremely proud of all students for their continued focus on learning and conquering the challenges of changing routine/learning environment during the pandemic. It is inspiring to watch the adaptability and positive attitudes of students as they conquer change.

February has been another sensational month at Congress Elementary School. Student Council hosted a fabulous Century Spirit Day as well as a Valentine’s Red, White, and Pink Spirit Day. The students also enjoyed After School Recess’ during the month of February and March, compliments to our Student Council. The Health Council is sponsoring an in-school “Track-a-Lap” event. Students engaged in identified physical fitness activities earn points and then a prize from Student Council.

Tuesday, the 16th, marked the end of the Second Trimester and Parent-Teacher Conferences were held the following week. Thank you to all those able to attend in person or virtually. Honors Recognition will be done in-class on Tuesday, March 2, by the Student Council visiting each class and awarding recognitions. The following week of March 8, Cougar Buck Store will be hosted by the Student Council.

The efforts of the Yearbook Club are going to be visible soon. Orders for the yearbook have gone home and the cost is $10 due by Monday, March 8. Looking forward to the artistic renderings of our Yearbook Club and appreciate all their work to make tangible picture memories come to life.

Starting after Spring Break, on-site support services for students will be 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Due to funding for the year the school remains in the “distance learning” form; however, we would like to have ALL students at school for on-site support services. Busing may be offered for specific students as need indicates with possibility of full bus service starting in April 😊. By scrolling down to the map and clicking on Yavapai County, you can see three indicators on the right of your screen. This guides determination for bus services. It would be wonderful if all three markers were in the green.
