December 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Thank you for collaborating with your child to increase academic, physical, and social-emotional growth. It has been a great November full of learning and celebration. Truly, there is much to be thankful for as we are experiencing the holiday season.  Parents, volunteers, supporters of the school, staff members, and board members truly make a difference by collaborating every day for Congress Elementary School students.

We appreciate you putting education high in your priorities. Our Honors Assembly was held on Tuesday, November 12th. We want to recognize the parental efforts made towards getting children to school every day. It is always nice to see Perfect Attendance Awards! We are very proud of every single child's accomplishments. Congratulations Congress Elementary School was rated a preliminary “A” school again this year. Final school letter grades may be released in February or March 2020.

November was busy with events. The volleyball tournament happened on November 1st. Although the teams did not win, outstanding character was shown by all players. A super PACK staff and family appreciation dinner was hosted during Parent-Teacher Conferences and the Scholastic Book Fair week. Also, a delicious family Thanksgiving meal was served by Mrs. Jimenez on November 21st. Basketball season and the K-4th Grade STEM Drama Club both started in November.

Wickenburg Air has highlighted another two students of the month. Kindy Ward was chosen as the October Student of the Month and Charlie Schooley as the November Student of the Month. Thank you to Wickenburg Air for their time and generosity.

Congratulations to the following school level Hoop Shoot first place winners: Jonathon Juarez and Mary Bell (8/9 division); Tanner Ervin and Airalyn Ramirez Contreras (10/11 division); and Xavier Moralez and Cynthia Solorzano (12/13 division). These students will compete December 7th, in Wickenburg, at a local area school competition.
